The Importance of Connectors
As a vital sector of the renewable energy industry, photovoltaics (PV) has experienced rapid global growth in recent years. Driven by worldwide low-carbon initiatives, government policy support, and technological advancements, China's renewable energy sector has achieved remarkable success. However, the reliability of PV systems still faces numerous challenges. Connector failures remain one of the most critical safety concerns in PV systems. According to industry research, connector-related issues account for up to 38% of PV power plant failures, with approximately 30% of total failures caused by loosening or poor contact.
In PV systems, connectors are key components ensuring safe and stable power transmission. They primarily consist of nuts, connector bodies, pins and sockets, sealing rings, and sealing sleeves. The nut serves two purposes: first, securing the cable to ensure reliable electrical contact, and second, working with sealing components to provide waterproofing. During installation and operation, improper handling, external vibrations, or thermal expansion/contraction due to environmental factors can cause nuts to loosen or detach. This may lead to waterproofing failure, electrical leakage in conductive parts, and ultimately, fire hazards.

UKT Connector’s Ratchet Anti-Loosening Mechanism
To address the issue of PV connector nut loosening, UKT developed and implemented a ratchet anti-loosening mechanism. This mechanism allows free rotation in one direction while restricting movement in the opposite direction. The ratchet design prevents unintended loosening, ensuring connector stability under external forces and maintaining reliable PV system operation. It not only mitigates failure risks caused by detachment between the body and the nut but also facilitates large-scale automated production.

Conclusion
This anti-loosening mechanism has been widely applied in UKT’s PV connector product line, proving durable, reliable, and highly stable. UKT was the first to patent this innovation. Due to the superior structural design, UKT connector contributes to the efficient and stable performance of PV systems .
